The music of the album KAFKAS METAMORPHOSEN was created for the dance theater piece of the same name by the renowned choreographer Irina Pauls at the Heidelberg Theater.

The album reflects the profound engagement with Kafka’s work and biography. His characteristic transitions from the real to the surreal are musically embodied by the transformation of sounds and noises of traditional classical instruments into captivating compositions and soundscapes using electronic effects and sound sources.
A central theme of KAFKAS METAMORPHOSEN is the close connection between Kafka’s life and his story „The Metamorphosis,“ which is seen as a grand metaphor and is certainly strongly tied to Kafka’s life and biography, with correspondences between characters in the story and members of Kafka’s family. The music thus reflects themes such as alienation, humiliation, family, escape, as well as guilt and redemption.
